Richard A. Pengilly

Richard A. Pengilly, age 95 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Center in Park River.

Richard was born December 8, 1926, the son of the late Ernest and Florence (Cree) Pengilly in Walsh County, North Dakota.  He grew up in the Park River area and attended country school at Willow Grove District 56.  Richard began farming with his father and also helped tend bees with his uncle, Howard Cree.

Richard was united in marriage to Lillian Hatlstad on October 19, 1960 in Edinburg, ND.  They lived in Grafton and Park River. Richard worked at the Developmental Center in Grafton until 1989, after his retirement from farming.  He was an avid rabbit breeder and loved raising rabbits.  Richard loved music and played the guitar and accordion.

Richard is survived by many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings: Darell Pengilly, Virginia Samuelson, Margaret Trosen, Eugene Pengilly, and Robert Pengilly.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River.  Visitation will be on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River. ND
