Richard B. Kotaska

Richard B. Kotaska, age 71 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Richard B. Kotaska was born January 16, 1938 near Conway, ND the son of the late Benjamin and Ann (Hodny) Kotaska. He was raised near Conway and Pisek, ND. In 1953 he moved to Grafton and attended Central School. He later moved to Grand Forks where he met and married Ellen Roseno on Oct. 18, 1958. They moved to Grafton in 1964 and Dick worked at the Grafton Developmental Center as a carpenter, retiring in 1991. He kept busy as a handyman doing carpenter work. He met and married Linda Rodahl on September 3, 2005 in Grafton, ND. Richard worked tirelessly giving freely of his time to help others better themselves through the AA program. He cherished every person he met along the way. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He enjoyed planning and attending the A.A. Camp-a-Rama in Lake Bronson, MN and the annual chili feed. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dick is survived by his wife Linda of Grafton, ND; children: Michael (Mary) Kotaska, Thief River Falls, MN; Karen (Russell) Staines, Winnipeg, MB, Canada, Christopher Kotaska, Texas, step-children: Taunya (Bob) Moore, Grafton, ND; Lana Rodahl, St. Louis Park, MN; grandchildren: Kalyn, Kenton and Kurt Staines, Nicole Bowles, Karissa, Joshua and Angela Moore, Kindra Viktora and Avalena Christianson, siblings: Bernard (Darlene) Kotaska, Aitkin, MN; Mary Ann (Engelbert) Jelinek, Pisek, ND; and Rodney Kotaska, Champlain, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Ellen on Feb. 20, 2002.
