Phyllis A. Momerak, age 84 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Lutheran Sunset Home after a courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis Ann Crandall was born January 5, 1930 in Bottineau, ND the daughter of the late Ed and Alma (Boe) Crandall. She attended and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND in 1948. On October 8, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harvey E. Momerak. The couple made their home in Grafton. She was employed at the Hodny, Burke & Rice Law Office as a legal secretary, retiring in 1992. Phyllis was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and WELCA for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Birthday Club, LaBoheme Club, & the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering at the Lutheran Sunset Home and the Food Pantry. She is survived by her children: Gayle (Rick) Almen, Park River, ND; and Michael (Lorelie) Momerak, Grafton, ND, grandsons: Brandon, Jonathan, Troy & Tyler Almen, step-grandsons, Jedd and Kyle Grimm. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Harvey in 2005 and her sisters: Arlene Hennum and Marion Hennum. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
