Phyllis Jean Manley age 52, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Adams, North Dakota passed away Sunday April 15, 2018 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Phyllis Jean Chally was born March 11, 1966 in Grafton, North Dakota, the daughter of Eldora (Storey) Chally and the late Leslie Chally. She graduated from Adams High School and then attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa for two years and graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in education. She worked as a Special Education teacher in Edina, MN. Phyllis was united in marriage to Curtis Manley on July 25, 1998 in Bloomington, MN. The couple moved to Independence, MO. She taught at Rockwood Baptist School and then worked for a chiropractic clinic until her health forced her to retire.
She was a member of Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and the Rockwood Baptist Church, Independence, MO. She was a devout Christian and loved Jesus. She loved music, little animals and children. She would light up the room when she walked into it.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Curtis, Manley, Independence, MO; mother, Eldora Chally, Adams, ND; brother, Doug Chally, Adams, ND; nephew, Dylan Chally, Adams, ND and dear friend, Ann Mickow, Blooming Prairie, MN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Leslie Chally.
Memorial services will be Friday, April 20, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a memorial service in Independence, Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Adams Quick Response.
