Phyllis S. Anderson

Phyllis S. Anderson, age 89 of Hoople, ND passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Borg Pioneer Memorial Home of Mountain, ND. Phyllis S. Larson was born January 27, 1921 in Nash, ND the daughter of the late Pedar and Hilda (Hultin) Larson. She attended rural school near Nash, attended school in Grafton and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND. Following her education she was united in marriage to George A. "Bud" Anderson on November 11, 1941 at Nash, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Hoople, ND until April of 2007 when they moved to the Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in Mountain. Phyllis was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association #380 of Grafton. She was also a member of the M & M Study Club in Hoople. Phyllis served on the Hoople Band Boosters, served lunches after all the football and basketball games and especially enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Phyllis always had the coffee pot on for those whose would stop by the farm. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She is survived by her children: Joel (Sharon) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND; Donald (Ellen) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND; Barbara (Steve) Boone, Devils Lake, ND; James Anderson, Hoople, ND; Jill (Mike) Donahue, Pekin, ND; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud on September 9, 2007, two brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM and Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Hoople City Cemetery.
