Phoebe M Riske

Phoebe M. Riske, age 88 of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Minto, ND, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Valley 4000 Square of Grand Forks.

Phoebe M. Chapiewski was born February 23, 1930 in Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late Alex and Matilda (Czapiewski) Chapiewski. She attended St. Anthony’s Convent school in Warsaw, ND.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Minto, ND and the Forest River American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bingo and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Donald) Riske of Forest River, ND, Wayne Olson of Williams, MN, Gail Babinski of Grand Forks, ND, Edward Olson of Drayton, ND, Michelle (Don) Reynolds of Edmore, ND; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Michael, brothers: Florian, Bill, Ed, Clarion and sister Florence Abbott.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Minto. In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to the Red River Valley Hospice or St. John’s Cemetery of Ardoch, ND. The family would like to thank all of the nursing home staff and the RRV Hospice for all the care they provided.
