Pete T. Torgerson

Peter “Pete” T. Torgerson, age 77 of Edinburg, ND passed away on May 7, 2025 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.

Pete T. Torgerson was born September 30, 1947 to the late Clinton and Verna (Overbye) Torgerson in Langdon, ND.  He was raised and attended school in Fairdale, ND, graduating with the last class of Fairdale High School in 1965.  He graduated from Trinity Bible College in Jamestown, ND in 1968. After college, he ventured out west to Seattle, WA until 1970, when he returned home and began working for KAP, Inc, as a mechanic. In 1972, he moved to Fairdale and began farming.

Pete was united in marriage to Linda Stull on February 17, 1973 at Wibaux, MT.  Pete started Torgerson Construction and Drywall. in 1985 and owned and operated until retirement in 2014.  In 2007, they moved to Tiber Coulee in Edinburg, ND and then to town in 2021.

Pete was a member of Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River where he served as Deacon and Bible Study teacher.  He was also a member of Gideons International.  Pete was a man of strong Christian faith and knew the Lord as his personal Savior.  He was an incredibly skilled carpenter and mechanic and could fix anything.  He was a skilled draftsman, who drew many architectural plans through the years. He was a kind and loving man who was always willing to help others and enjoyed sharing a good cup of coffee with friends.  He was an incredible husband, dedicated father, wonderful grandpa.  He will be missed dearly.

Pete is survived by his wife Linda, Edinburg, ND; children: Dean (Marcie Hendricks) Torgerson, Hastings, NE and Lisa (Warner Goodrich) Torgerson, Canyon Country, CA; grandchildren: Tyler Torgerson, Wadena, MN, Tiahna (Keenan) Nichols, Alexandria, MN, Taylynn and Trevin Torgerson, Wadena, MN, and Payton Hendricks, Hastings, NE; great grandchildren: Delilah and Evelyn Torgerson, Wadena, MN; goddaughter: Shiloh (Flaten) McDonough, Osseo, MN; siblings: Ellen Scott, Thousand Oaks, CA, David (Jane) Torgerson, Franklin, TN, Cathy (Roger) Fredrickson, Bothell, WA, Mary (Carl) Graves, Rapid City, SD, Joe (Donnell) Torgerson, Fairdale, ND, Fern Rath, Park River, ND, Becky Lueck, Westtown, NY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, siblings: Henry, Jim, and Paul Torgerson; and sisters-in-law: Joyce Torgerson and Carol Torgerson.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Victory Free Lutheran Church from 6-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Sylvesta Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fairdale. Suggested memorials are preferred to Victory Free Lutheran Church or Gideons International. Funeral Services will be livestreamed via the Tollefson Funeral Home website.
