Pearl Loftsgard

Pearl Loftsgard, 91 of Fargo and formerly of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at her home in Fargo. Pearl Larson was born March 25, 1921 in rural Walsh County, the daughter of the late Olaf and Lena (Lien) Larson. She graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River and attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. Pearl was united in marriage to Eugene Loftsgard on October 18, 1946 in Park River where they made their home. They recently moved to Touchmark Assisted Living in Fargo, ND. Pearl was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was active in Homemakers, served as Sunday School superintendant and was active in the community. She enjoyed music, was a talented singer and a great cook! Pearl was a devoted wife and beloved mother. She is survived by her husband Eugene, Fargo, ND; children: Stuart Loftsgard, Park River, ND; Clarke (Kathy) Loftsgard, Grand Forks, ND; Julie Nordstrom, Cedar Falls, IA and Lisa (Larry) Homuth, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren: Tracy (Wayne) Laaveg, Justin (Stacey) Loftsgard, Claye (Candie) Loftsgard, Karah Hanson, Andrew (Brooke) Nordstrom, Kirsten (Ben) Arnold, Amy (Peter) Salmon, Bryn Homuth and Cale Homuth, eight great grandchildren: Emily, Billy and Sophie Laaveg, Callie and Catie Loftsgard, Kole and Brady Hanson and Abby Arnold. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Ernest, Norman and Harry Larson and sisters, Viola Laaveg and Myrtle Berg. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
