Paul R. Lunski, age 81 of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Minto, ND, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Woodside Village of Grand Forks.
Paul Raphael Lunski was born on November 27, 1938 in Minto, ND the son of the late Anthony and Verna (Budish) Lunski. Paul’s parents passed away at a very young age and he went to live with Roman and Clara Lunski who raised him as their own. He attended school in Minto.
Paul was drafted and served in the Army from 1963 to 1965. Upon discharge, Paul returned home to the farm he loved. He farmed and raised cattle on the family farm in Minto, until 2018. He moved to Lutheran Sunset Home and then to Woodside Village in the summer of 2019.
Paul was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post 201 of Minto, ND. Paul was also a member of the Northeastern ND Pioneer Machinery Association. He loved to restore tractors, collect toy farm machinery, and attend auction sales.
Paul is survived by his nephews, nieces, great nieces, and great nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Verna Lunski; Clara and Roman Lunski; siblings: Lorraine Duray, Bernice Contreras, Sonny Lunski, and Evelyn Lunski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Military Rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion and the ND National Guard Honor Guard. Social distancing recommendation will be observed and masks are recommended.
