Patrick T. Mccann

Patrick T. McCann, age 94 of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, May 04, 2012 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Patrick T. McCann was born July 29, 1917 in Harriston Township of Walsh County, ND the son of the late Terrance J. and Grace (Kennedy) McCann. He attended rural school near Minto and finished in education in Minto. Following his education Patrick started farming with his father. He was united in marriage to Mildred Burris on November 18, 1941 in Minto. The couple lived and farmed near Minto. Patrick also did mechanic work for Sitzer Chevrolet and Super Service in Minto, he worked as a parts man for Wilson Brothers in Grafton. He later worked construction and then worked as a caretaker for the Burke/Hodny Apartments in Grafton. Mildred passed away on December 26, 1973. Patrick moved into Grafton in 1982 and moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home on March 2, 2012. He served on the Minto Public School Board. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Grafton. Patrick is survived by his sons: LeRoy (Karen) McCann, Grafton, ND; and Michael (Denice) McCann, Grand Forks, ND; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons: Robert, Terrance and Loren, brother Francis "Sol" McCann and step-sister Gertrude Narloch. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND.
