Patricia "Pat" A. Bailly

Patricia “Pat” A. Bailly, age 81 of Grafton, ND passed away on July 22, 2025 at her home.

Patricia Ann Shelp was born August 16, 1943 in Langdon, ND to the late Theodore “Ted” and Isabel (Fischer) Shelp. She was raised in Langdon and attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School.

She was united in marriage on July 27, 1961 to Mr. Dawn Bailly.  They lived in Cavalier and Grand Forks, before settling in Grafton, where they raised their beloved daughters.

Pat was a homemaker while her children were young. She began working for the Grafton State School in 1974, where she enriched the lives of many people, for more than 30 years.   Pat cherished time with her children and grandchildren.  She was an avid Bingo player and loved a day trip to the casino with friends.  Flowers were a passion and she enjoyed tending to her gardens.  Pat was a long-time member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Grafton and found comfort and strength in her faith.

Pat is survived by her husband Dawn, Grafton, ND; children: Kim (Tim) Martin, Grafton, ND, Dawna (Paul) Woinarowicz, Drayton, ND, Michelle (Pat) Kohler, Drayton, ND, and Roberta (Josh) Malone, Grafton, ND; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great grandchild and one great, great grandchild on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Angie, infant sister Kaye, and sisters: Fern (Julian) Hofstad and Joyce (Terry) Moran; lifelong friend Norma Jean Swenson and brothers in law: Leland Bailly, Richard Bailly, and Raymond Bailly. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, ND.
