Norman Russum, age 91 of Grafton passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. His gentle spirit remains still with us, reflecting his understanding and experience of the love of God. Norman was the second child of five children born March 28, 1922 in Grafton, ND, to the late Carl and Anna Russum. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1940. After his graduation he began farming. After retiring from farming, Norman spent many of his winters in Mesa, AZ. He loved to travel often, with his cousins Raymond and May Carlson to foreign mission fields. While reminiscing with friends, he talked about many unique experiences, having visited some 40 foreign countries. He loved his family and diverse network of friends which he enjoyed throughout his lifetime. He was a member of the Grafton Assembly of God Church. Norman is survived by his sisters: Eulalie (Dale) Peterson, Warren, MN; Marion (David) Sahlin, Tacoma, WA; sister-in-law, Eva Russum, Fort Myers, FL; aunt Clara, many cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded by his parents and siblings: Clarice and Reuben. Funeral services will be Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Grafton Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be Sunday at the church from 3-5:00 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 PM. Friends may call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
