Norman "Fisken" Colsen, age 89 of Grafton, ND passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home. Norman was born July 13, 1926 in Grafton, ND, the son of Justin and Marie (Nelson) Colsen. He grew up and attended school in Grafton. Norman served in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Norman married Adeline (Lansing) Sevigny in 1961 at Grafton. He became the proud father of Adeline's son Lynus Sevigny at that time. He worked for farmer A.B. Thompson and car dealer Bill Williams. He retired from Hills' Inc. after over 40 years of service helping Walsh County farmers. "Fisk" carried on his father's tradition of raising garden vegetables for the residents of Grafton. He continued growing quality corn, potatoes, and pumpkins until his death. He is survived by his wife Adeline, son Lynus (Debbie) Sevigny; siblings Marjo Sparrow, Carol "Tula" Kirsch, and Larry McMillian, sister-in-law Leona Sevigny; and many nieces and nephews who will remember their Uncle Fickie. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Marvin "Stub" Colsen and Clifford McMillian, and three sisters: Evonne Buchmeir, Bev Rynning, and Marie Ricker. Memorial services will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard and the Grafton American Legion Post #41. Inurnment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton. Due to Fisk's love of his faithful dogs King, Lucky, and Chico, memorial are requested to the Humane Society.
