Nancy R Rud

Nancy R. Rud, age 65 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her home in Grafton surrounded by her family and under the care of hospice.

Nancy Rae Skjerven was born May 16, 1950 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Ernie and Ruby (Elshaug) Skjerven. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1968 and from Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo in 1969. Nancy returned to Grafton where she worked at Verna’s Beauty Shop, Avis’ Hair Kamp, and Hair Dimensions, retiring in 2012. Nancy also worked at Tollefson Funeral Home for over 30 years and set hair at the Lutheran Sunset Home. She was united in marriage to Gary Rud.

Nancy was a member of Grafton Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed ceramic’s, traveling and cross stitching. Her greatest joy was spending time with her eleven grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Gary, children: Paula (Jon) Bradbury, Shari (David) Boyd, Brent (Rebecca) Rud, Dana (Traviss) Viken, her grandchildren: P.J., Nate, Noah, Becca, Joey, Josh, Matthew, Luke, Joran, Tait and Bjorn, her siblings: Trudy (Jim) Jacobson and David (Elaine) Skjerven, brothers-in-law, Ray (Linda) Rud and Dwaine (Sandra) Rud. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, and mother and father-in-law, Walter and Loretta Rud.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Altru Hospice-Grafton Division or Grafton Lutheran Church.
