Muriel Catherine Swartz

Muriel Catherine Swartz, age 93 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Muriel was born June 30, 1920 in Dahlen, ND to Martin and Mary (Delaney) Rustebakke. She was raised and received her education in Dahlen. Muriel was united in marriage to Albert Swartz on Oct. 2, 1936 in Grafton, ND. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for 7 years by Lankin and then ran several businesses in Lankin and Adams. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and WELCA in Lankin. Muriel moved to Park River in 1997 and in 2007 she entered the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Muriel enjoyed music, reading, Bingo, and playing cards. She is survived by her sons: Richard (Shelly) Swartz, Casa Grande, AZ and Terrance (Susan) Swartz, San Tan Valley, AZ; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, son Ronald, infant son, and grandson Aaron. Muriel will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hoff Lutheran Cemetery of rural Adams, ND.
