Muriel J.
McCauley, age 95 of St. Paul, MN and formerly of Park River, ND died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at her home in St. Paul. Muriel J. Ford was born January 16, 1914 in Kensington Township near Park River, ND the daughter of the late David and Jennie (Robb) Ford. She graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in 1932. She attended the Mayville State Teachers College for one year. She taught school for five years prior to her marriage to Wilbur McCauley in 1939. Muriel taught school for 22 years, retiring in 1971 from the Climax, MN School system where she taught from 1955-1971. The couple returned to Park River in 1982 and Wilbur passed away in 1995. Muriel moved to St. Paul, MN in 2006 where she lived with her daughter Loretta.
She was a member of the Federated Church and Women's Fellowship in Park River, ND.
Muriel is survived by her children: Ronald (Char) McCauley, Cottage Grove, MN and Loretta Johnson of St. Paul, MN; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and siblings: Glen Ford and Edith (Marlow) Bjerke, both of Park River, ND. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: David, Kenneth, Alex, Harlan and sister Mary Larson.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Park River Federated Church. Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Park River.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River is in charge of the arrangements.
