Mildred Nupdal

Mildred Nupdal, age 93 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Mildred A. Puppe was born May 1, 1916 near Crystal, ND the daughter of the late John and Louise (Hartje) Puppe. She grew up and attended school there. Mildred was united in marriage to William Ault on June 10, 1940 in Hallock, MN. The couple made their home in Cavalier. He passed away on May 14, 1961. Mildred worked in the kitchen at the Cavalier Public School for a time then worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier. She was united in marriage to Bjorn Nupdal on November 4, 1966 in Cavalier. The couple lived in Cavalier until moving to Grafton in 1990. Bjorn died October 23, 2002 and Mildred moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in April of 2006. She was a member of the Mountain American Legion Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by her children: Anna Louise (Thomas Leonard) Einarson, Grafton, ND; John William (Linda) Ault, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Sheryl (David) McGlynn, East Grand Forks, MN; Sandra (Michael) Sackett, Grafton, ND; Scott (Tamara) Ault, Reynolds, ND; Lynn (Rebecca) Ault, Cavalier, ND; Lynette Austfjord, Cavalier, ND; Ginger (Shawn) Saeland, International Falls, MN; Steve (Dawn) Myers, Devils Lake, ND; Duane Basher, Jamestown, ND; Alexander (Stephanie) Basher, Williston, ND; 20 great grandchildren; half-brother Orval (Phyllis) Reichert, Hensel, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Wayne, grandson Jared Ault, sister Arlene, brothers: Lester and Elmer and several half brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Grafton Federated Church. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Mountain City Cemetery, Mountain, ND.
