Mildred "Millie" Hagen

Mildred “Millie” D. Hagen, age 93 of Park River, ND passed away on January 28, 2024 at First Care Health Center.

Mildred D. Qually was born on January 4, 1931 at Adams, ND, the daughter of the late Alfred and Clara (Hilde) Qually.   She attended rural school near Adams and graduated from Adams High School in 1949.

Mildred was united in marriage to Ronald Hagen on June 18, 1954 at the Vang Lutheran Church near Fairdale, ND.   Millie worked for Northwestern Bell in Grafton and Grand Forks.  They lived in Devils Lake for many years and while there Millie worked for Saunders Chiropractic Center and Devils Lake Implement.  In 1996, they moved to Park River.  She was a member of Victory Free Church and a life member of the Adams American Legion Auxiliary.  In 2017, Millie and Ron moved into the Good Sam senior living apartments.

A highlight in Millie’s life was entertaining their family and friends at their lake home in Devils Lake.  In retirement she and Ronnie took bus trips and spent time in Arizona.  Her favorite saying was “Life is a journey, not a destination”.

Millie is survived by her nieces DeAnne (Wayne) Vigen, Adams, ND; Wanda (Layne) Ensrude, Grafton, ND and Kyza (Vern) Skyrud, Edinburg, ND and her nephews Lon (Sandy) Drevecky, Minot, ND; Larry Drevecky, Sidney, MT; Greg (Nancy) Hammer, Fairdale, ND; Taryn (Andrea) Hammer, Minot, ND and brother-in-law Merlin Hammer, Park River, ND.  Several precious great nephews and great nieces also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years in 2018, sister and brother-in-law Ada and Wally Drevecky, sister Beverly Hammer, her in-laws Goodwin and Edith Hagen, Glenn Hagen, Cora and Alvin Shimek, Harold Shimek and David Shimek.

Millie was the last surviving member of the Qually family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Victory Free Lutheran Church, Park River, ND.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
