Mildred Kratochvil, age 90 of Park River passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Mildred Kovarik was born August 4, 1920 in Latona Township, Walsh County the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Shirek) Kovarik. She attended school in Latona Township. She was united in marriage to Ernest Kratochvil on June 17, 1941 in Adams, ND. Mildred was a great cook and baker. She loved her crochet work and playing cards. She was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the WFLA Lodge. She is survived by her son Merle (Linette) Kratochvil, Lankin, ND; granddaughter Caitlin Kratochvil, Lankin, ND; step grandsons: Sean (Julie) Hjelle, Lankin, ND; Chris Hjelle, Newfolden, MN; siblings: Mayme (Charles) Lukes, Zumbrota, MN; Irene Hodek, Brocket, ND; Henrietta Karas, Lankin, ND; Joe Kovarik, Roosevelt, MN; Roland (Marie) Kovarik, Caballo, NM; sister-in-law: Ella Kovarik, Nampa, ID. Several nieces and nephews also survive and her special great nephew Devin Sticha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, sister Marcella (Dennis) Sticha, brothers: Jerry Kovarik and John Kovarik, sister-in-law Edith Kovarik and nephew Terry Kovarik. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Park River, ND. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Kosobud Cemetery, Lankin, ND.
