Michael Paul Johnson

Michael P. Johnson, age 55 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Essential Health Hospital of Fargo, ND.

Michael Paul Olson was born April 18, 1970 in Robbinsdale, MN to Rick Olson and Dawn (Benjaminson) Johnson. He and his family moved to Grafton in 1974, where he was raised and attended school. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1989. After graduation, he attended Universal Technical Institute of Arizona. He returned to North Dakota, after completing his schooling in Arizona. He worked and lived in Fargo, ND for a few years, where he met his favorite person, Charla.

On May 11, 1996, Michael married Charla at Grafton Lutheran Church. They made their home in Grafton, ND. Michael worked for Johnson Sales & Service for many years before his health forced him to retire. Michael and Charla loved their life together, riding motorcycles for many years, taking day trips, watching their favorite shows and movies, visiting and laughing together and with family and friends. Michael found recovery with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous and the many friends he made in the program.

Michael is survived by his wife Charla; mother Dawn Johnson; father Wally Johnson, brother Stephen Johnson; aunt and uncle, Jane & Clayton Mohagen, and biological father Richard Olson, as well as, several nieces and nephews, all of Grafton, ND.

Memorial Services will be on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be a Grafton Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
