Maxine Andrews

Maxine Andrews, age 90 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Unity Hospital of Grafton.

Maxine Johnson was born August 4, 1931 in Concrete, ND, the daughter of the late Martin and Bertha (Rockstad) Johnson.  She grew up and attended school in Cavalier, graduating from Cavalier High School.  She was united in marriage to Gene Andrews.  The family moved to Grafton in 1962 and began working in the County Auditor’s office where she worked until retiring at age 77.  She also worked part time as a bartender at several local bars.  She moved into the Park River Good Samaritan Center in December of 2021.

Maxine was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed flowers, bowling, crocheting, playing bingo, slot machines and going on bus trips to the casino.

She is survived by her sons: Marty and Mike Andrews, Grafton, ND; grandson Lee (Katie) McFarland, Grand Forks, ND, 2 great grandchildren; siblings: Robert Johnson, McClusky, ND, Betty Jackson, Fargo, ND and Mavis Franks, Canton, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son Randy, granddaughter Kelly Andrews and siblings: Shirley Jackson, Don Johnson, and Arlise Olson-Farrow.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
