Mason Fisher, age 84 of Grafton, ND passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Mason Fisher was born April 27, 1926 in Grafton, ND the son of the late George and Mary (Brandon) Fisher. He attended Sinkler rural school near Grafton. After his education Mason enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific earning the Purple Star. Upon his discharge Mason returned to Grafton and worked on the family farm for a year. He then moved to California and started working construction. He returned to Grafton in 1968. Mason was united in marriage to Gale Jaster on November 21, 1969 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton. Mason began working construction for Adamson Construction and then became a custodian for Central School in Grafton. Mason retired in 1992. He entered the Lutheran Sunset Home in March of 2010. Mason was a member of the Grafton Federated Church and a lifetime member of the AMVETS. He is survived by his wife Gale Fisher, Grafton, ND; daughter Marlys Fisher, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Justin, Alexander and Morgan. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Wilfred; sisters: Helen Almen, Gladys Kalbakdalen and Margaret Jaster. Memorial services will be Thursday September 16, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Federated Church of Grafton, ND. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Private family burial services were held. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post #41.
