Mary Stoltman

December 8, 1941 — December 28, 2008

Mary D. Stoltman, age 67 of Minto, ND passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Mary D. Wisniewski was born December 8, 1941 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Louis and Isabelle (Moga) Wisniewski. She grew up and attended school in Minto, graduating from Minto High School. She attended St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, MN for one year. She was united in marriage to Ed Stoltman on Feb. 20, 1960 in Minto, ND. The couple made their home in Minto.

A mother of six, and piano teacher for more than 40 years, she worked with countless children and adults sharing her love of music. She was an active member of the North Dakota Music Teachers Association. Some of her adult students throughout the years included area bankers, lawyers and pastors. An accomplished organist, Mary provided the accompaniment for hundreds of weddings and funerals throughout the valley. While her children were still young, Mary was an active member of both Warsaw and Minto church choirs, and also sang solo's. In addition to being an active vocal member of the choirs as a young woman, she also played the organ at Mass on countless occasions during the later years of her life.

She had a love of the outdoors, vacationing at the lakes, playing bridge with her friends, pinochole with her family members, and enjoying the beauty of her backyard. The most important thing in her life was her family, and her good friends who were her source of love and inspiration. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up, and was a great support to them in their various pursuits and endeavors through the years.

Mary is survived by her husband Ed of Minto, ND; children: Larry (Deb), West Fargo, ND; Ken, Fargo, ND; Brad, Lake Mathews, CA; Tom (Shelley), Tehachapi, CA; Bryan, Oakland, CA; and Lynn Marie, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Kera (Clint) Morelock, Tony, Kaila Jo, and Kassie and great granddaughter Arabella. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 from 4-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND.

The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
