Mary A. Krile

Mary A. Krile, formerly of Pisek, ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Neenah, WI, one week short of her 99th birthday. She was born to Frank and Katherine Scheiber in Oshkosh, WI on March 25, 1913. In 1930 she graduated from Commercial School and was employed in Oshkosh for several years. She traveled to Pisek, North Dakota in 1935 to care for a sick relative, and stayed on as the priest's housekeeper for 5 1/2 years. In November, 1940 she married Thomas J. Krile Jr. of Pisek. He passed away in 1961. Mary moved back to Wisconsin to live with her daughter in 2004. Mary started working as relief clerk at the Pisek Post Office in 1960, and became the Postmaster there in 1973. She served there until her retirement in 1980. She was very active in her parish, St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek. She served as sacristan, catechist,and trainer of altar servers, as well as being a long time member of St. Ann's Altar Society. Her Catholic faith was vitally important to her. Mary loved little children and helping the elderly. She enjoyed playing her piano, reading, knitting, playing cards, baking, gardening, and solving puzzles. She is survived by 4 children: Thomas (Kathy), Lubbock, TX; David (Donna), Dayton, OH; RoseMary Wilhelm, Neenah, WI; and Ginny (Pat) Simoncini, Santee, CA. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, one brother Tom Scheiber, Appleton, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be on Thursday evening, March 22 at the Tollefson Funeral Home in Park River from 5 to 7 P.M., with recitation of the rosary at 7. Visitation will also be from 9 A.M. Friday morning March 23, until the time of the funeral Mass at 10 A.M. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek, with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, Mary and her family prefer that you have a Mass offered for the repose of her soul, or make a donation to St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Pisek, ND 58273, or the Pregnancy Help Center, PO Box 626, Park River, ND 58270. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery
