Mary Jane L. Sevigny

Mary Jane L. Sevigny, age 88 of Oakwood, ND passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND.

Mary Jane L Demers was born May 10, 1930 near Oakwood, ND the daughter of Frederick and Clarabell (Campbell) Demers. She graduated from the St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood, ND. Following her education she moved to Minneapolis, MN and worked for an insurance company for a year. She returned home and started working as a bookkeeper at the S&L Store in Grafton. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Philip Sevigny on October 28, 1953 in Oakwood, ND. The couple made their home in Oakwood. Mary Jane ran a day care in her home for 30 years. She moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in March of 2017 and Philip passed away on September 21, 2017.

Mary Jane was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society. She taught CCD for a number of years. She was a member of the Grafton American Legion Auxiliary.

Mary Jane is survived by her children: Julie (Jerry) Pearce, Larimore, ND; Randy Sevigny, Brenda Sevigny, Gail Sevigny, all of Grafton, ND; Gary Sevigny, Oakwood, ND; Tricia (Jim) Weber, Grand Forks, ND; Monica Sevigny (Scott Nelson), Fisher, MN; her mother, Clarabell Demers, Grafton, ND; seven grandchildren: Brittany (Kevin) Phelps, Jessica (Joshua) Lupkes, Travis Pearce (Emily Beaton), Alexandria Weber, James Weber, Joseph Weber and Lucas Weber, two great grandchildren: Kennedy Lupkes and Cora Phelps, her brother, Donald (Alice) Demers, her sister-in-law, Cyrilla Demers, both of Oakwood, ND. She was preceded in death by her father, husband and brother Ronald.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oakwood, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Oakwood, ND.
