Marvin Midboe

Marvin Midboe, age 89 of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 03, 2015 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Marvin Midboe was born July 4, 1926 in Grafton, ND, the son of the late George Walter and Dagmar (Almen) Midboe. He grew up near Grafton and attended the Mandt country school. Following his education he started farming with his father. He was united in marriage to Marian Landrud in 1946 and the couple farmed near Inkster, ND. After farming for many years, Marvin worked for ASCS and retired after 25 years. He married Alice Gillies in 1995 and the couple made their home in Park River. He was a member of the former South Trinity Lutheran Church of Grafton, the Eagle's and the NFO. He enjoyed carpentry, reading, boxing, and was a people person. He and Alice enjoyed taking trips in their RV to Alaska, Branson, MO, and many other places. He is survived by his wife Alice Gillies Midboe, Park River, ND, sons: Duane (Kathy) Midboe, Climax, MN and George Midboe, Inkster, ND, step-daughters: Joan Mastre, Park River, ND and Mary (Don) Swartz, Grafton, ND, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his beloved dog Hercules. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dwayne, step-son-in-law Ronnie Mastre, and grandson Tim Greicar. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Park River Federated Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River.
