Marvin R. Christianson

Marvin R. Christianson, age 72 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND. Marvin R. Christianson was born Dec. 23, 1941 in Vernon Township, Walsh County, ND the son of the late Thelmer and Mabel (Flaten) Christianson. He attended the Ramsey School in Vernon Township and later attended the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River. Marvin farmed in Vernon and Norton Townships until retiring in 1990. He married Gayle Swartz on October 27, 1986 in Fargo, ND. Following his retirement he worked for area farmers. He later moved to Park River and Edinburg before moving to the Borg Home in Mountain. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center of Park River in February 2014. Marvin is survived by his sister, Joan Nichol of West Virginia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arne and sister Harriet Fingarson. Funeral services will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Park River.
