Martha M. Votava, age 89 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Martha M. Sevigny, the daughter of the late Ulric and Rose (Bailargeon) Sevigny, was born June 30, 1923 in Grafton, ND. She grew up and attended school in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School. Following her education, she moved to Portland, OR to work in the shipyards during the war. After the war, she returned to Grafton and was united in marriage to Frank Votava on May 29, 1947. The couple made their home in Grafton and she worked part-time at the Getz Drug Store and the Reyleck's Department Store for many years. She moved into the Lutheran Sunset Home in 2008. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society. She is survived by her husband Frank, Grafton, ND, children: Allan (Susan) Votava, Grafton, ND, Rosanne (Gary) Omilak, Rock Island, IL, Diane (Robert) Almen, Grafton, ND, Mark Votava, Grafton, ND, 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gene, brothers: Camille, Jim, Albert, Francis and sisters: Rose and Jeanette. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
