Martha M. Dahl

Martha M. Dahl, age 96 of Park River, ND passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Martha Marie Cicha was born September 10, 1913 in Veseleyville, ND the daughter of the late Joseph and Elenora (Vesely) Cicha. She attended rural school near Veseleyville. Following her education she was united in marriage to Carl H. Dahl on February 26, 1935 in Veseleyville. The couple lived and farmed SW of Park River until retiring. Carl passed away on March 17, 1981 and Martha moved into Park River. She lived in Park River until 2007 when she moved into the Good Samaritan Center. Martha was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels for the Park River Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her son Ernest (LaVern) Dahl, Tacoma, WA; three grandchildren: Linda Barber, Michael Dahl and Peggy Dahl, five great grandchildren, all in Washington State; her siblings: Angie Burger, Park River, ND; Sylvester (Chieko) Cicha, Seattle, WA; Emmanuel (Donna) Cicha, Grafton, ND; sister-in-law: Trudy Cicha, Park River, ND; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Donald, sisters Helen Listopad and Georgia Hennessey and brothers: Victor, Joseph, Stanley, Bert and Jerome. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Park River.
