Marsha E. Axvig, age 60 of Adams, ND passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Marsha E. Fjeld was born June 7, 1950 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Kenneth and Eleanor (Ingulsrud) Fjeld. She graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND in 1968. Marsha was united in marriage to Earl Axvig on June 27, 1970 in Park River, ND. The couple made their home on their farm near Adams, ND. In 1980, Marsha & Earl moved their family to Hobson, MT to work on an Angus Ranch. After returning from Montana, Marsha worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home & Gate City in Park River. Currently, Marsha worked as a conservation technician for NRCS in various counties including Pembina, Walsh and Cavalier. Marsha loved her Lord Jesus Christ. Marsha was a member of the Victory Free Lutheran Church and WMF in Park River, ND. She was a member of the North Dakota Cattle Women's Association, and the North Dakota Angus Association. She enjoyed breaking and riding horses and showing cattle. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, hunting, Riverwalk, tracking, and camping at their cabin. She enjoyed sewing, canning, baking, quilting & creating, writing short stories, poetry and birdwatching. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, and cherished every moment with them. She is survived by her husband Earl, Adams, ND; her children: Matthew Axvig, Tokyo, Japan, Michelle (Harley) Blegen, Leonard, ND; Sally (Brandon) Larson, Hoople, ND; her grandchildren: Hope, Hayden, Christopher, Cody, Hank, Kristen, Joseph, Megan and James, her mother Eleanor Fjeld, Park River, ND; her siblings: Jonathan Fjeld and Teresa (Tim) Gire, Park River, ND. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth and brother Mark Fjeld. Funeral services will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hitterdal Lutheran Cemetery near Adams, ND.
