Marlys L. Rutherford Enge

Marlys L Rutherford Enge, age 76 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her home in Grand Forks, ND.

Marlys L. Rutherford Enge was born to Clinton and Ruth (Morstad) Rutherford, rural Grafton, on July 28, 1941. She grew up on the family farm, attended school near Nash, graduated from Grafton High School in 1959.

Marlys’ first job after Business College was with Brady Accounting Firm in Grand Forks.  Her last office work was in the Accounting Dept of Valley Memorial Homes, from where she retired after 16 years, in 2014.

In 1975 Marlys married Dennis Enge, a widower, and became “Mom” in WI.  Marlys is survived by his children - Dianne Gamma in MT, Denita (Karl) Oakes in OR,  Dan (Amy) Enge in WI, Darlene (Randy) Buss in MO, 11 grandchildren and their families.

Marlys is survived by her brothers Wayne (Leona), on the home farm, rural Grafton, and Lynn (Linda), Abq, NM, Nephews & nieces are:  Richard (Jackie), Ranetta (Alex) Clarke, Roy (Laura), Bryan, Krista & families.  Also her “sisters” Carolyn & Jeannette (Coker) with whom she shared her “Auntie” title!

Marlys was preceded in death by her father Clinton in July 1973, and her Mother Ruth in May 2010.  Marlys loved and was loved by cousins and a host of friends.

At a young age Marlys made her choice to love and serve God.  Her purpose never was altered.  Marlys cherished fellowship meetings in her own home, just like those she loved in her parents’ home all their days.  She continued to cheerfully serve others even on her last day, and her home was a haven to many.  Marlys’ faith was unfeigned, her love was inclusive and enduring, her joy was founded by her secure relationship with God, her spirit was peace.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Armory, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Armory. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery in the spring.
