Marlene L. Frovarp, age 77 of Park River, ND, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Marlene Nicklaus was born May 23, 1939 in Elgin, ND, the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Mathilda (Schultz) Nicklaus. She grew up in Elgin and attended school in Taylor, ND. Following her education she worked as a waitress at the Time’s Café in Fargo. She was united in marriage to Willard Frovarp on February 9, 1958 in Moorhead, MN. The couple made their home in Fargo until moving to Park River in 1964. They continued to make their home on the farm near Park River until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. She loved living on the farm with her loving and supporting husband through the years. She enjoyed baking buns, sugar cookies, lefse and bars, gardening, canning, watching the deer and watching the moon at night. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a loving and caring person, always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her husband Willard, Park River, ND, children: Jeffery “Jeff” Frovarp, rural Park River, Tamara “Tami” Ness, Rugby, ND, Bradley “Brad” Frovarp, rural Park River, ND, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters: Irene Eggers and Arlene Arndt, Bismarck, ND, Violet (Neil) Monson and Delores (Leo) Schneider, Fargo, ND, and brother Raymond (Jeanette) Nicklaus, Montana. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gregory, sisters: Ann Maul and Louise Sackman, and brothers: Ervin, Albert, Nicky and Willie Nicklaus.
A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery of rural Park River.
