Mark A. Nygard

Mark Allen Nygard of Edinburg ND, born August 29th 1962 to Orlyn and Joyce Nygard, died August 25 2024. He passed at home in the comfort of his wife Dianne Schmidt Nygard early Sunday morning.

Mark was a kind man who lived a quiet lifestyle. He spent many years trucking for Johnson farms and Bellerud Trucking. In January of 2000 Mark and his family moved to Edinburg, North Dakota from Chiefland Florida. Where he started working for Great Plains Excavating as an equipment operator. Mark loved photography, traveling, family and worshipping the Lord. He enjoyed wintering in Arizona with Laurie, Randy, David, and Kerry. Mark and his wife Dianne only shared a short time together but all they knew was love and happiness. He was a new grandfather of a beautiful baby girl.

Mark is survived by his wife Dianne Schmidt Nygard, his son Damin Nygard, daughter Elaine Nygard (Chad Stabo), granddaughter Magnolia Stabo, sisters Karen Gutterud, Laurie (Randy) Thompson, Wendy (Loren) Machart, brother Gary (Deb) Nygard, and many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his father Orlyn, mother Joyce, stepmom Sharon and brother-in-law Raymond Gutterud.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg, ND.
