Marian C. Lee, age 99 of Grafton passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
Marian Constance Torblaa was born August 13, 1916 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Leonard and Emma (Elthon) Torblaa. She attended rural school near Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. Marian later attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for accounting. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Lee on October 16, 1940 at Grafton Lutheran Church. The couple lived and farmed near Grafton until moving into town in 1986. Marian worked at the W. W. Reyleck’s Department store for about 30 years. Lawrence died May 6, 1995. Marian moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in April of 2009.
She was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church and the former South Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA. She taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was a member of the Homemaker’s Group. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her family to Bemidji, MN.
Marian is survived by her son, Lloyd Lee, Grafton, ND; granddaughter, Aimee (Marc) Wagner, Crookston, MN; two great granddaughters: Allysen and Mollie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Ethel Brekke and brother, Orlando Torblaa.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at South Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Grafton, ND in the spring.
