Marian Hajicek, age 87 of Grafton, ND passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Altru Hospital, surrounded by most of her family after a short illness.
Marian Moen was born March 28, 1931, to the late Henry and Inga (Gaarder) Moen. She attended school in Park River. Marian was united in marriage to Laddie Hajicek in Crookston, MN. The couple made their home in Park River and raised their family. Laddie passed away April 15, 1976. Marian moved to Grafton in 1984 and continued to make her home there until the time of her death.
She was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church, rural Park River, a member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and WELCA. She volunteered for the Carnegie Regional Library, Walsh County Historical Society and Second Time Around. She was an avid crafter, loved to sew and play cards.
Marian is survived by her children: Doug (Donna) Koch, Fargo, ND; Ingrid Koch, Middleton, WI; Gary (Sonya) Hajicek, Grafton, ND; Laurie Foeside (Jerry Loftsgard), Edinburg, ND; Carole (Kelly) DeMars, Warren, MN; John (Kristy) Hajicek, Grafton, ND; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Laddie, sons: David and Jeffery.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Park River, in the spring.
