Mary (Maria) Jimenez, age 82 of Grafton, ND passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Valley Elder Care Center of Grand Forks.
Mary was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Immaculate Conception in Laredo, Texas and the Altar Society of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Grafton.
After years of laboring in the beet and potato fields of the Red River Valley, the family settled in Grafton in 1963. Mary worked for the Borden Company in Grafton for 12 years and worked in the kitchen at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Grafton. Mary enjoyed her work as housekeeper for several years serving local families and the Rectory at St. John’s until her retirement in 2013.
Mary is survived by her two brothers: George and Joseph; sisters: Nickie and Jane; sister-in-law, Mary Jo and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Antonia Jimenez and sister Connie Jimenez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
