Margaret A. Erickson

Margaret A. Erickson, age 98 of Hoople, ND passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Borg Pioneer Memorial Home of Mountain, ND, with her family by her side.

Margaret A. Born was born July 21, 1927 in Crystal, ND to the late Herman F. Born and Amanda W. (Peters) Born. She was raised on the family farm the youngest of six children. She attended Crystal Public Schools. She graduated in 1945 from Crystal High School and went on Valley City Teachers College for her teaching degree, then to NDSU for advanced training in home economics. Margaret was a school teacher in Seattle, WA, and a number of schools in Pembina and Walsh County.

Margaret united in marriage to M. Gerhard Erickson at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Crystal on October 19, 1958. They made their home on the farm in rural Hoople, where they raised their children. Margaret was a member of the former Park Center Lutheran Church of Rural Hoople, ND. Margaret spent her life faithfully devoted to Christ, sharing his love and the hope of the gospel with everyone she met.

Margaret is survived by her children: Doug Erickson, Hoople, ND, Dennis (Shauna) Erickson, Grafton, ND, and Scott Erickson, Hoople, ND; grandchildren: Amanda, Brendan, and Cassie Erickson, and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings: Harold, Eugene, Marie, Werner, and Pastor Clarence Born. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Park Center Lutheran Cemetery of rural Hoople, ND.
