Mamie G. Lien

Mamie G. Lien, age 85, of Conway, ND passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Mamie G. Pecka was born June 23, 1933 in Conway, ND, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Novak) Pecka.  She was the oldest of seven children and helped raise her siblings.  She graduated high school in Conway.  Mamie was united in marriage to Elden Lien on June 4, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park River, ND.  Mamie worked as the City Auditor for the City of Conway.  The couple made their home in Conway their entire lives.  Elden passed away on June 29, 1990.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Conway.  She was very active in the church and the community of Conway.  She was a very loving and caring person, family meant everything to her.  Her family adored her and she would go out of her way to make them happy.

Mamie is survived by her brothers:  Edward (Eunice) Pecka, Lankin, ND; Tom Pecka, Conway, ND; brother-in-law, Kenneth Funseth, Park River, ND; sister-in-law, Julie Pecka, Buxton, ND; nephew, Robert Jelinek, Conway, ND.  Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden, parents, siblings:  Shirley (Gary) Henningsgard, Sylvia (Don) Slevodnik, Steve Pecka, and Viola Funseth, brothers-in-law:  Daniel Jelinek, Walter, Ernest and Victor Lien and sisters-in-law Elsie, Norma and Inez Lien.

Memorial Services will be Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at the St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery, Conway, ND.
