Mae A. Holm, age 90 of rural Hoople, ND passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Mae A. Monson was born with her twin brother, Mandus, on July 31, 1926 in rural Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Gust and Olga (Rundhaug) Monson. She attended rural school near Nash, ND. Following her education Mae worked as a nurse’s aide at the Deaconess Hospital in Grafton, ND. In the fall of the year she would help the family with harvest. Mae was united in marriage to Joseph Holm on October 25, 1953 at South Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Grafton, ND. The couple lived and farmed on the Holm family farm near Hoople and they continue to make their home on this farm.
Mae was a member of the former Hvideso Lutheran Church where she served with the A.L. C. W. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daffodil Study Club.
Mae is survived by her husband, Joseph, rural Hoople, ND; her children: Jane (Camburn) Shephard, Crystal, ND; John (Lea) Holm, Park River, ND; and Thomas (Kristi) Holm, Hoople, ND; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren; her brother, Lloyd Monson, Grafton, ND; a special niece, Loretta Schmidt of Colorado. Several nieces and nephews survive. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Orville, twin brother, Mandus, Vernon and Willard.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and Monday for one hour prior to the service all at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
