Lyle T. Niemann, Sr.

Lyle T. Niemann Sr. age 48 of Grafton, ND died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Lyle Thomas Niemann was born December 7, 1967 in Cavalier, ND the son of Albert and Donna (Lunde) Niemann. He attended Valley Schools in Crystal and Hoople, ND, graduating in 1986. He attended the University of Minnesota, Crookston for a time. Following his education he returned to Crystal and farmed with his brother Lynn. Lyle was united in marriage to Heidi Phelps in 1991. He married Marlene Raddatz October 6, 1998 in Cavalier, ND. Lyle worked for Paul O’Toole Farms and Chris Bjerke and Lyle had a custom harvesting business. In 2001 the couple moved to Grafton. In 2004 he started working for the City of Grafton in the Street and Waste Water Department. He was currently the Assistant Superintendant of that department. Lyle also owned and operated Niemann Soil Sampling from 1999 to the present.

Lyle was a member of the Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton, ND where he was currently serving as Board President. He was a member of the Grafton Spoiler Booster Club and the Grafton Curling Club.

Lyle is survived by his children: Victoria Niemann, Grafton, ND; Lyle T. Niemann, Jr, Grand Forks, ND; Brandi Niemann, Grafton, ND; his ex-wife, Marlene Niemann, Grafton, ND; his mother, Donna Niemann, St. Thomas, ND; brother Lynn (Annette) Niemann, Crystal, ND; sister, Nancy (Dennis) Rinde, Portland, ND; brother-in-law, Harold Unke, Crookston, MN; sister-in-law, Jaci Niemann, Grafton, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, sister, Ramona Unke, brother, David Niemann and nephew, Daniel Unke.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Grafton Armory, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton. Friends may also call at the armory on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Crystal, North Dakota.
