Luella Common

Luella Common, age 91 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Grafton.

Luella Kroeplin was born April 8, 1925 in Bottineau County, ND the daughter of the late Henry and Caroline (Hahn) Kroeplin. She attended school there. Luella was united in marriage to Elwyn Common on July 29, 1945 in Inkster, ND. The couple made their home near Forest River, ND. Luella worked as an attendant at the Grafton Developmental Center for a number of years. In 1966 the family moved to Grafton and they made their home here since. Elwyn passed away on August 13, 2007.

She was a member of the Zion English Lutheran Church and LWML.

Luella is survived by her children: Rodger (Kathy) Common, Cass Lake, MN; Floris (Bill) Link, Grafton, ND; Carole (Larry) Schornack, Thompson, ND; Shirley (Kelly) Lundquist, Grafton, ND; Patty (Rock) DeSautel, Grafton, ND; 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her brother, Edwin Kroeplin, Mayville, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Luella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Margaret Halley, Carl, Robert, Henry, Erwin, Gilbert, Viola Sorlie, Floris Grover, Melvin and Donald.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Zion English Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
