Lucy M. Sobolik

Lucy M. Sobolik, age 100 of Pisek, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at First Care Health Center of Park River.

Lucy M. Melcer was born May 8, 1916 in Perth Township, Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Josephine (Zidon) Melcer. She attended rural school in Perth Township and graduated from Whitman High School. She was united in marriage to Victor Sobolik on June 21, 1934 in Bechyne, ND. The couple lived and farmed in Ops Township of Walsh County until retiring in 1984. Victor passed away Dec 8, 1990. Lucy continued to make her home on the farm until her death.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and Altar Society of Veseleyville, ND.

Lucy is survived by her children: Henry (Diane) Sobolik, Forest River, ND; Robert (Janis) Sobolik, Denver, CO; Lucy (Bill) Buol, Moorpark, CA; Victor S. (Barbara) Sobolik, Pisek, ND; Clayton (Jane) Sobolik, Hoople, ND; Eileen Sobolik, Pisek, ND; Lawrence (Ginny) Sobolik, Grand Forks, ND; James (Renee) Sobolik, Mayville, ND; Hugh Sobolik, Falcon, CO; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother; an infant brother and three sisters.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Veseleyville. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
