Lorraine Louise Kliniske

Lorraine L. Kliniske, age 80, of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at her home in Grafton. Lorraine Louise Schroeder was born August 4, 1934 in Fairbault County, MN to Martin Carl and Irene Louise (Schroeder) Schroeder. The family moved to Benton County, MN and Lorraine attended school in Foley, MN. In 1952 the family moved back to Minnesota Lake, MN. IN 1954 Lorraine moved to St. Thomas, ND where she worked on a farm and at the Café. She met Eugene Kliniske at a neighbor's graduation party. They were married on July 20, 1974. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Lorraine and Eugene had a dairy farm and farmed for 18 years. They raised their two children on the farm. They sold the farm and moved to Grafton. In Grafton, Lorraine worked for the Senior Center as the cook for 16 years. When her health made it impossible for her to be on her feet anymore, she retired. She enjoyed being with family, cooking, playing cards, embroidery, playing bingo and reading. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Kliniske, Grafton, ND; son, Martin "Marty" Kliniske, Grafton, ND; daughter, Valene (Cole) Downing, Minneapolis, MN; two grandsons: Shawn Kliniske and Owen Kliniske; her sisters: Donna M. Olsen, Lake Havasu, AZ; Norma A. (Maynard) Schwarz, Minnesota Lake, MN; IvaLee (Ray) Spires, Columbus, OH; and Doloris Lamoreau, Vernon City, MN. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: LaVern, Kenneth and Lonnie Schroeder and her sister, Yvonne Yokiel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:15 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Grafton Hospice Program.
