Lorraine F. Daley

Mrs. Lorraine Frances Daley, 86, of Burlington, Iowa died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born June 22, 1923 in Perth Township in Walsh County, North Dakota she was the daughter of Albert James and Frances Sylvia Vasichek Bina. On July 20, 1945 she married Quintin B. "Squint" Daley in Park River, North Dakota. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2009. Mrs. Daley was a graduate of Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, North Dakota. She went on to receive her Registered Nurse's Degree from Grafton Deaconess Hospital. She worked as a caregiver and registered nurse for her entire life. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid of Messiah Lutheran Church and Ruth-Mary Elizabeth Circle of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was also a member of MIZPAH Chapter of Eastern Star, Kings Daughters, Decca Club and Zion's Ladies AID. She was a nurse's volunteer for Athletic events. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and her grandchildren. She loved playing curling. Survivors include, two sons, William A. Daley of Sterling, Alaska and Robert Daley of Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Susan Linder of New London, Iowa and Carol Garrett of Bettendorf, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kristin, Bethani, Brodie, Tucker and Tanner; five great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Ted, Brianna, Jaeden and Amandine; and two brothers, George Bina of Seattle, Washington and Albert Bina of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday, January 26th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Daley will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 27th, in Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Suzanne Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tollefson Funeral Home in Park River. The funeral service for Mrs. Daley will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30th, in Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hoople, North Dakota. The Rev. Jolene Knudson Hanse will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople, North Dakota in the spring. Memorials have been established for Messiah Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church.
