Lorna Geneva Haug, age 97 of Grafton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Lorna G. Johnson was born in Hoople, ND on November 7, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Johnson) Johnson. She grew up in the Hoople area, graduating from Hoople High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Otto Haug June 24, 1942 in Crookston, MN. They lived and farmed in Farmington Township until retiring in 1978. They remained on the farm until 1993 when they moved into Grafton. They enjoyed the winter months in Mesa, AZ for 20 years. They moved into the Sunset Apartments in 2003. Otto passed away August 19, 2005. She became a resident of the Sunset Home in October 2007. Lorna was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church and was previously a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Thomas, ND and Landstad Lutheran Church, Auburn, ND. Lorna is survived by her son Bill (Joanne) Haug, Grand Forks, ND; daughter Sharon (Larry) Schwartz, Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren: Dr. Billy (Jody) Haug, Dr. Jonathan (Maniphone) Haug all of Grand Forks; Dan (Jill) Schwartz, Fargo, ND; Laura Schwartz, Brooklyn Center, MN; six great grandchildren: Sophie and Samuel Haug, Simon and Henry Haug, all of Grand Forks; Luke and Zak Schwartz, Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her sister Clarice Langerud, Edinburg, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto, sister Evelyn Hunter, Downey, CA; brother Ardell Johnson, Hoople and two infant brothers. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Friends may call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Landstad Cemetery of Auburn, ND.
