Lois J Wambem

Lois J. Wambem, age 78 of Park River, ND, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Lois J. Johnson was born September 1, 1937 in Vesta Township, Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late John L and Lisa (Windingland) Johnson. She grew up and attended school near Park River. She was united in marriage to John Wambem on September 12, 1954 at Hoff Lutheran Church of rural Adams. The couple lived and farmed near Park River. John passed away on December 24, 2013 and Lois continued to live at home until the time of her death.

She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, planting flowers, and crocheting afghans.

She is survived by her sons: Alan and Daryn Wambem of Park River, ND, sister Cynthia (Randall) Burgess, Camp Verde, AZ, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and son Gary.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery of rural Park River in the spring.
