Lois O. Dunford

Lois O. Dunford, age 87 of Milton, ND passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital of Cavalier.

Lois O. Anderson was born February 29, 1928 in Park River, ND the daughter of the late John and Laura (Walstad) Anderson. She attended rural school near West Mountain and graduated from Milton High School. Lois attended the Mayville State Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She taught rural schools near Grafton and Milton. Lois was united in marriage to Russell Dunford on August 14, 1949 at the West Mountain Church. The couple lived and farmed near Milton until retiring in 1986. The couple moved to Milton in 1960.

Lois was a member of the Milton Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was also a member of the church choir. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Lois is survived by her husband, Russell, Milton, ND; her children: Ramon (Peggy) Dunford, Santa Maria, CA; Kevin (Susanna) Dunford, San Diego, CA; Karen Olson, West Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren: Jason, Colby, Chase, Alissa, Nathan Duford and Julie and Erin Olson, her sister, Margaret Ditschler, St. Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and five half-brothers and sisters: Amy, Clara, Barney, Bert and Kris.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Milton Lutheran Church, Milton, ND. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the West Mountain Cemetery.
