Linda E. Wehrman

Linda Elaine Johannesson Wehrman, age 73 of Donnybrook, ND passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

Linda E. Johannesson was born on November 26, 1944 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Gudmundur “Boody” and Ellen (Anderson) Johannesson. She attended school in Gardar and graduated from Edinburg High School in 1962. Linda attended the University of North Dakota where she met the love of her life Willis Wehrman. They were married on October 16, 1965 in Gardar, ND. The couple began their married life together in Madelia, MN. They also lived in Moorhead, MN, Idaho Falls, ID, Donnybrook, ND and Rogers, MN. She worked as a church secretary in Moorhead and Idaho Falls. Her love and devotion was always obvious taking such good care of her husband Willis spending 52 years together through the good times and bad. She took great joy in seeing her girls grow, lead happy lives, and successful careers. She had a love of children so being a Grandma (Amma) was her biggest pleasure attending every activity and event possible. Linda was especially thrilled after 20 years of time with grandsons to be blessed with 2 granddaughters.

Her patience, kindness and politeness were ever present traits. She will be remembered for always having a smile on her face and a jolly laugh. She enjoyed visiting with company and delighted in good times together. Her love of music showed through whether it was singing in the Donnybrook church choir or at the farm or in their apartment she always had her music playing. She was a great singer of nursery rhymes, camp songs and funny tunes which everyone enjoyed along with her. She will miss her friends at Heritage Place apartments in Rogers, doing puzzles on 3rd floor and morning coffee. Linda enjoyed golf, occasionally getting to play and especially watching it on TV. She loved to read whether it was her romance novels or the newspaper or whenever given the chance a bedtime story. She liked her house plants and took pride in her green thumb. As a beloved wife, she will be dearly missed by Will who affectionately referred to her as My Sweetie or Lindy.

Linda is survived by her husband, Willis of Donnybrook, ND; five daughters: Lana Wehrman, Brooklyn Park, MN; Terri (Dwain) Urvig, Dayton, MN; Patty (Chad) Welsh, Moorhead, MN; Janet (Iain) Wehrman Harriman, Burnsville, MN; Diane Wehrman (Chris Lindblad), Mandan, ND; Grandchildren that will miss her dearly include Andrew, David, Michael and Timothy Urvig, Dylan and Gavin Welsh, Kaelan Harriman, Ethan and Nora Lindblad; her brother: Gary (Rosemary) Johannesson, Green Valley AZ and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

We share all this with you as a glimpse of her legacy, for she was cherished and words seem pale as descriptors of her impact on our lives.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Gardar Lutheran Church, Gardar, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pioneer Cemetery, Gardar, ND.
