Linda Kay Troftgruben, age 65 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the First Care Health Center of Park River after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer with her husband by her side. Linda Kay McGregor was born March 27, 1950 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late William and Irene (Thompson) McGregor. She grew up and attended school in Cavalier, graduating from Cavalier High School. She was united in marriage to Eldon Troftgruben on November 29, 1969 in Cavalier, ND. She then attended the University of North Dakota and Ohio State University graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following her education, she began working as a lab assistant in the oil fields in Williston. The couple moved to Edinburg in 1986 and she began working as an accountant at the farm. She was a member of the Cavalier Presbyterian Church. She was a strong supporter of St. Jude's, the Circle of Friends in Grand Forks, and sponsored 2 girls from Ethiopia, with whom she become close friends. She appreciated nature and animals, and loved spending time outdoors. She is survived by her husband Eldon, Edinburg, ND, daughter Dana (Torry) Bjorneby, Livingston, MT, 4 grandsons, sister Marlene (Roland) Berg, Kansas City, KS, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Park River Bible Camp.
