Linda G. Severson, age 76 of Grafton, ND passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Linda Gail Levang was born April 27, 1942 in Adams, ND, the daughter of the late Leonard Vivian and Charlotte (Erickson) Levang. She attended elementary school in Adams and at Cool Water Canyon Elementary School, Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Adams High School. She worked at the Chuck Wagon Café, the Adams Movie Theater and later moved to Fergus Falls, MN to babysit her nephew. Linda returned to Adams and was united in marriage to Duane Severson on June 9, 1968 at Adam’s Mountain Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Fairdale and moved to Grafton in 1992. She worked at the Grafton Developmental Center and the Lutheran Sunset Home until her health forced her to retire. Linda moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in November of 2017.
She was a former member of the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Fairdale and WELCA. She taught Sunday school for more than twenty years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a member of the Grafton Doll Club, Member of TOPS and the Edinburg League Bowling Club. She loved her family, was a great mother and grandmother and was one of the most positive and enthusiastic people you could meet. She was an avid crafter, knitting, crocheting, sewing, scrap booking, babysitting and loved dogs.
Linda is survived by her husband of fifty years, Duane Severson, Grafton, ND; her children: David (Marlys) Severson, Grafton, ND; Dianna (Terry) Denault, Oakwood, ND; Mike (Darcy) Severson, Mandan, ND; Melinda (Darin) Harder, Grafton, ND; Tommy Severson, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Tyrone (Rachel) Denault, Melissa Denault-Schaf, Leah Santos, Montana Denault, Terry Ray Denault, Brett VanDam, Logan VanDam, Shawn Severson, Miriah VanDam and Cody Stiefel; great grandchildren: Zeek, Kayden, Karlene and Drayton; siblings: Curtis (Mary) Levang, Howard Lake, MN; Wayne (Marie) Levang, Bismarck, ND; Terry (David) Blomquist, Pembina, ND and Ann Gobel, Westfield, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother-in-law Gerry Gobel and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
